Mission Statement

Lineolated Parakeet by Peggy DuvalThe Lineolated Parakeet Society (LPS) is a nonprofit organization established in 2006, whose purpose is to represent the Lineolated Parakeet (Bolborhyncus lineola) and to educate the public about keeping and breeding these birds in captivity.

The LPS membership is open to Lineolated Parakeet breeders, pet bird owners, avian veterinarians, pet/bird store owners, bird product manufacturers, and other people interested in the perpetuation of this species.

The LPS believes that these exotic birds have special needs that owners new and old can help reveal, define and be made better aware of through an organization with a circumglobal membership dedicated to preserving the species and promoting it's husbandry.
